in order to further strengthen technical exchanges in the prevention and control of encephalitis B, On July 6, 2019, the Vaccine and Immunization Branch of the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association held a national academic exchange meeting on Japanese encephalitis prevention and control strategies in Hangzhou. More than 80 representatives from disease control institutions, hospitals and vaccine enterprises participated. The meeting invited the leaders of the CDC of the National Health Commission and the responsible comrades of the Immunization Center of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention to attend the meeting, and made special reports on the vaccine management law, Japanese encephalitis prevention and control, and so on. Leaders of Zhejiang CDC delivered a speech at the meeting and exchanged views with representatives of the meeting on mosquito vector prevention and control. At the exchange meeting, eight experts made special reports on the epidemiology, virology, immunology, vaccinology, clinical science and prevention and control strategies of Japanese encephalitis at home and abroad, especially on the adult immunization strategy and implementation. Some standing committee members and members of the Vaccine and Immunization Branch commented on the report and the monitoring, prevention and control of Japanese encephalitis.

Through this academic exchange, the participants have a better understanding of the new epidemic characteristics, disease diagnosis and prevention and control strategies of Japanese encephalitis. Through the discussion, the participants made suggestions on the current prevention and control of Japanese encephalitis: first, to strengthen the training of clinicians to improve the level of diagnosis and treatment of Japanese encephalitis; second, to carry out monitoring of Japanese encephalitis antibodies, porcine Japanese encephalitis antibodies and etiology, mosquito density, etc., to make early prediction and early warning of Japanese encephalitis epidemic; third, to further improve the immunization strategy of Japanese encephalitis, especially adult immunization strategy and unvaccinated children.
