[Post-Conference Report] Initiation of Encephalitis B Research Project Scientific research helps Japanese encephalitis prevention and control

Since its establishment, the Japanese encephalitis Prevention and Control Branch of China Vaccine Industry Association has always been committed to providing a learning and exchange platform for experts and scholars in related fields, establishing a more extensive exchange mechanism, organizing experts to discuss key academic topics, exploring and formulating research directions in related fields of Japanese encephalitis, forming expert opinions and industry consensus in the field of Japanese encephalitis, and providing professional suggestions and guidance for the prevention and control of Japanese encephalitis in China.

In order to further strengthen the prevention and control of Japanese encephalitis, the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Japanese encephalitis Prevention and Control Branch of the China Vaccine Industry Association was heldIt will be held in Xiamen on March 17, 2023. This meeting brought together dozens of well-known experts and scholars from all levels of CDC, medical institutions, and universities, focusing on the special work of the branch's JE research project.

First of all, researcher Wang Huanyu, chairman of the Japanese encephalitis Prevention and Control Branch of the China Vaccine Industry Association, introduced the "Research Project Framework of the Japanese encephalitis Prevention and Control Branch", mainly from the research background, research purpose, current situation and prospects of the branch's upcoming research project.

Subsequently, the participating experts discussed the JE research project and put forward professional and valuable suggestions for each research project. Experts at the meeting pointed out that up to now, there have been many local outbreaks of adult Japanese encephalitis in the northern region, especially the epidemic of adult Japanese encephalitis in Gansu and Ningxia in recent years, which will sound the alarm for the prevention and control of adult Japanese encephalitis in other regions in the future. Experts at the meeting stressed that according to the previous epidemiological data of Japanese encephalitis, there may be a local epidemic of Japanese encephalitis in the next few years, and it is necessary to do a good job in monitoring, prevention and control of Japanese encephalitis to prevent the outbreak of Japanese encephalitis. In addition, there is a phenomenon of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis of Japanese encephalitis, and more sentinel hospitals need to be established to screen Japanese encephalitis cases.

Then, the experts at the meeting discussed the capacity building of Japanese encephalitis neutralization experiment, the diagnostic technology of viral brain (membrane) inflammation, and the delivery of specimens of suspected viral brain (membrane) inflammation.
